| Amsterdam, Netherlands. We enjoyed a canal boat cruise through the many canals of the city. |

| Amsterdam, Netherlands. We walked several miles across the city to visit the Rijksmuseum. Alas, Rembrant's famous "Night Watch" painting was under conservation and only visible through scafolding. |

| Paris, France. We had only three hours in Paris, so checking on the restoration of Notre Dame was a must. This venture included riding the Paris Metro. |

| Portsmouth, England. Our guide is standing next to the "Bonds of Friendship Monument" marking the location of the departure of the first fleet carrying emigres to Australia. Portsmouth was also pivotal in the planning and launch of the D-Day mission. |

| Truro, England. Our ship docked in Falmouth, England, but we chose a tour to the Cornwall village of Truro. Here we stand before the Cathedral of St Mary. |

| Porto, Portugal. Located on the Douro River, with much of the city on cliffs above it, and a major distributor of port wine. We enjoyed a walk on the river levee. |

| Malaga, Spain. The city is ancient and modern, with Roman era relics such as this arena. Bull fighting no longer takes place there. |

| Cartegena, Spain. Another city with much to see. Pablo Picasso was a native and his statue a favorite locale for tourist photos (like us). |

| Cartegena, Spain. This Roman-age amphitheater was uncovered only in the past decades. A well-designed museum leads tourists from the modern day street to the theater itself. |

| Barcelona, Spain. Our ship docked in Tarragona, an hour and a half bus ride to Barcelona. Our tour began in the city, a site of several world expositions, but our goal was to see the Sagrada Familia. This is a view of the exterior. |

| Barcelona, Spain. The Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) Basilica is a masterpiece still under construction. Its architecture, designed by Antoni Gaudi, is bizarre yet beautiful. We had a terrific tour which included admission to the interior where I took this photo. |
